USA Softball of North Carolina Umpires

2018 Season USA Softball Umpire Fast Pitch Clinic

We are rapidly approaching our annual USA SOFTBALL fast pitch meeting and clinic, to be held SUNDAY December 3rd, 1pm @ Fairchild Gym, located at 827 S Graham Hopedale Rd, Burlington, NC 27217.

The cost for the clinic is $15. This meeting and clinic will be just for fast pitch umpires. If you call slow pitch only, you will want to attend one of the annual state clinics in early 2018. Dates and locations will be announced at a later date.

We will be covering 2018 rule changes, umpire expectations, 2018 State and National Qualifier tournament dates, as well as basic field positioning and plate work. The clinic portion will take place in the gym, so please bring athletic shoes which may be worn in the gym.

Roger Rickman will be on site to help you with all your uniform needs.

Effective 2017: All umpires who register with USA Softball must complete and pay for a background check. This includes all umpires who will work recreation, travel and tournament games. If you have had a back ground check with any other organization, you will still be required to have a background check done through USA Softball. Click on the link below --Back Ground Check--.

This is a Slow Pitch Women's tounament with teams from law enforcement that travel to play softball from all around North Carolina.
This year the event raised money for the Special Olympics. The support staff from the Special Olympics entered a team and there was an added game featuring two Special Olympics teams.
The event was won by the Durham SWAT team.
ASA/USA Softball has supported this event the last two years and look forward to being involved for this worthy cause for years to come!
